Welcome to Go To Your Room and Make Stuff. The podcast about making art, any kind of art, all by ourselves in a room or studio or with headphones. No one is telling us when, where or how... or any combination of those things. This is a podcast for solo artistic adventures and those who are doing it and those who want to try it.

This trailer introduces you to Shana Pennington-Baird, the host, her first guest Rob Witmer (composer, sound designer) and her second guest, Maddie Baird (writer).

Episodes will release every two weeks on Wednesdays!

[00:00:02] Speaker A: Hi, I'm Shana Pennington Baird. I am the host of a brand new podcast called go to your room and make stuff. And I'm going to be interviewing artists from all different kinds of mediums, from puppet makers to composers to authors and audiobook narrators and video game artists. The sky's the limit. We're going to talk about what does it take to get into a room and make stuff, especially when you're doing it all by yourself. I spent the last four years working on a project called Broken Wide Open when my heart tried to explode in Ireland, which was very exciting, and I'll talk about that in my episode. But I had to make some art to get through it and feel better about it. And that's the show. It's not all about me, actually. It's about me interviewing lots of other people. So come check it out. Go to your room and make stuff. Thanks. Playing composition. What's the thing that you spend the most time with? Or is there a thing you spend the most time with? [00:00:59] Speaker B: Yeah, I've been doing some composing lately, and I really enjoy. I enjoy music in sort of its purest form. I love putting on, you know, an album or a symphony or listening to it just kind of as its own thing. [00:01:12] Speaker A: Sweet. And if you have multiple mediums, do you have an absolute favorite? Right now, it's definitely writing. I have a romance novel that I'm currently writing.
